  • Oxidizers or Odorcides for Roadkill?

We’ve all seen the decaying deer or racoon on the side of the road, but after a while it somehow just disappears. Besides vultures and coyotes, decomposing bacteria is what ultimately breaks the roadkill down into dust. In fact, oxidizers only slow the decay process and odor-cides makes it smell pretty.

Mother Nature uses decomposing bacteria to break down proteins, sugars and fats until they’re gone. This is exactly why rotting pet urine smells like ammonia gas. Ur-OUT doesn’t remove decomposing bacterial like oxidizers do. Nor does it mask urine odors like odor-cides. Ur-Out breaks the urine odors down into smaller, unnoticeable molecules.

Why Pet Urine Smells Worse in a Home

Carpet pad is practically sterile, meaning it doesn’t contain decomposing bacteria like the soil outdoors. When a pet pees on the carpet, Mother Nature scrounges up a fraction of the decomposing bacteria found the soil out back. This means the pet urine doesn’t have enough decomposing bacteria to break it down as quickly as soil.

Because the bacteria is limited, it takes a long time to convert the available nitrogen in the pet urine to ammonia gas, the foul odor your customer is complaining about. This is why pet urine seems to never go away indoors. Unfortunately, many professional carpet cleaners reach for a bottle of oxidizer to kill the decomposing bacteria. This only prolong the situation until Mother Nature can resume converting the available nitrogen to ammonia gas by sending in more bacteria when you’re gone.

    Why Ur-Out Works

First, Ur-Out is not a silver bullet. The only way to guarantee complete pet urine odor removal is to replace the carpet, pad and wood or concrete beneath. yes – complete replacement! This ensures 100% odor elimination. Ur-Out however is a much easier and cost-effective option.

Ur-Out works by adding more probiotic bacteria to the carpet pad to mimic the soil outside. Adding more decomposing bacteria quickly and permanently eliminates pet urine odors indoors. Ur-Out also includes natural essential oils that counteracts that urine-ammonia odor as it breaks it down to unnoticeable molecules.

    Fast Application, Permanent Results

Ur-Out cuts your application time in half, if not more. Simply mix it up and pour it on each urine spot making a small puddle. Step on the puddle to disperse Ur-Out into the carpet pad beneath. You’re done! Once in the pad and in contact with the pet urine, Ur-Out’s probiotic bacteria starts converting the protein, sugars and fats within the urine into smaller, unnoticeable molecules.

No more exposing your business to the liability of flushing urine out of carpet pad. No more wondering why Mrs. Jones stopped calling you after applying an oxidizer to pet urine. Get Ur-Out down into the carpet pad, clean the carpet the same day, and you are done!

Ur-Out is a 99% natural odor eliminator that is fast and easy to apply. Take your carpet cleaning or restoration business to the next level by ordering your first bottle of Ur-Out right now.

  • Pet Urine Odor Removal: Chemistry or Biology?

Pet Urine Odor Removal: Chemistry or Biology?

There are several approaches to eliminating pet urine odors in carpet, but which method is most effective?

100% pet urine odor removal is achievable if a customer chooses to replace the carpet, pad and wood or concrete sub-floor beneath. This approach is obviously too extensive when professional carpet cleaners have the capability to eliminate most dog and cat urine odors permanently. So which pet urine odor remover works best?

I don’t know the exact figures, but with my experience as a formulator working within the professional cleaning industry, I estimate peroxide-based cleaners are the most widely used among professional carpet cleaners. Peroxide destroys odor-causing bacteria immediately; however, peroxide has a negative consequence many do not realize.

    Chemistry versus Biology

Chemistry is the study of how chemicals interact with each other; biology is the study of how living organisms process chemicals. There are several chemistry-based pet odor removers, but we will focus on peroxide as it is incorrectly assumed as the best choice among many professional cleaners.

Peroxide eliminates the odor-causing bacteria instantly, but does not effectively remove the uric salt, and this is important. As peroxide (H2O2) releases an extra oxygen, it converts to water (H2O), which allows the uric salt to absorb the moisture. This restarts the bacterial growth all over again.

Because peroxide does not effectively remove uric salt, it will continue to attract moisture and regrow bacteria. Using peroxide as a pet odor remover is not an effective choice as it does not break the Uric Salt Cycle. Therefore biology, not chemistry, is the correct method. Enzymes not only eliminate the odor-causing bacteria, but the main culprit behind the bacterial growth: uric salt.

    Why Uric Salt Matters

The following information is crucial to understanding why uric salt is so important when removing pet urine odor. Uric salt (uric acid) is a desiccant, meaning it attracts water, the life-source of all living organisms. Uric salt also contains nitrogen, which is a key nutrient for bacterial growth.

When hydrogen peroxide is applied to pet urine, the oxygen within peroxide does not affect the uric salt (C5H4N4O3). Notice uric salt contains four atoms of nitrogen. Nitrogen is an important nutrient for bacterial growth. As peroxide loses an oxygen and coverts to water (H2O), both the water and nutritious uric salt create the perfect environment for more bacterial growth, and eventually more pet urine odors.

Spore-from Ur-OUT contains billions of non-harmful bacterial spores that create the enzymes on contact. These incredibly potent enzymes not only break down the odor-causing bacteria, but also remove the key nutrients within uric salt making it ineffective and unable to support bacterial regrowth.
