Ur-OUT

November 29, 2021 by Ur-OUT

Why These Two are Must Have’s

I am not only a formulator, I also own a carpet cleaning business 500 miles away from where I live in Northern Indiana. Ur-Out pet odor remover and All-Spray carpet prespray were first formulated for my carpet cleaning business to offer better results, more revenue, reduced liability and reduced costs.

Generate Revenue While Dropping Liability

Our two flagship formulas, Ur-Out and All-Spray, bring our carpet cleaning service the most revenue and best customer satisfaction by far. It is worth noting why these two products increase your revenue while eliminating your liability.

Ur-Out Pet Odor Remover

Running a complaint-prone business 500 miles away requires proven techniques that work the first time. This includes making sure my technicians know when they’re cleaning polyester carpet, a high complaint-prone fiber. Besides that priceless tip, Ur-Out nearly eliminates the liability of pet odor removal.

There are so many liabilities when a carpet cleaner agrees to run the gauntlet of pet odor remediation. The greatest liability you risk is creating mold in a customer’s house by using subsurface tools. Second to that is your reputation. Understanding the many problems with treating pet urine odors will save your time, money and reputation loss. Here are a few.

Pet Urine on Polyester Carpet

Urine doesn’t stain polyester permanently. This is actually bad. If the customer cleaned her polyester carpet fibers before you arrived, you will not be able to find the urine spots with a black light. This means there are likely plenty of urine spots under the carpet just waiting to be activated when your rinse water touches the carpet. Note: Urine salt is a desiccant. This means it can suck water out of a drinking up 10 feet away, so adding moisture to that hidden salt will result in your customer being unhappy with your service unless you disclaim this problem first.

Flushing Carpet Pad Only Creates a Liabilities

I not only owned a water damage restoration business, but worked within it removing my share of wet carpet and pad, drywall and insulation. Most restores wouldn’t think to use a subsurface extraction tool because they do not remove enough water from the pad before mold can set in. Many carpet cleaners think that if the water stops coming through the visible plastic platform, then the water is gone. This is far from the truth. Peeling up that carpet will reveal padding that is not only wet, but saturated! The remaining urine will continue to create urine odors in just a few days when Mother Nature sends in more decomposing bacteria. This can kill your reputation.

The Oxidizer and Odorcide Myth

These two products are great for short term odor elimination, but they are completely useless for long-term results. In short, Mother Nature uses decomposing bacteria to eliminate decaying objects, think road kill, dead animals, dead trees, leaves, etc. Because carpet padding is basically sterile, you should apply more decomposing bacteria to eliminate the decaying pet urine. Many carpet cleaners incorrectly target the bacteria, but they’re on your side! They’re trying to eliminate the available nitrogen within the pet urine by converting it to ammonia gas. This is known as the nitrogen cycle. Yes, this causes urine odors, but it’s because they do not have enough bacteria present to do the job effectively. You must apply more decomposing bacteria (Ur-Out) to eliminate the urine odor fast and forever. Killing bacteria, or covering it with fragrance, only prolongs the odors, which can hurt your reputation in the long-run.

Why Buy Mostly Water

I realized early on that I would rather spend money on marketing and equipment rather than buy a gallons of mostly water. Being on both the manufacturing and service side of the carpet cleaning industry, I know the profit margins and what carpet cleaners are really spending on a gallon of bacterial enzyme. I made Ur-Out highly concentrated for a few reasons: 1. You save money when you buy in bulk; 2. You save on shipping costs when you buy in bulk; 3. The probiotic bacteria stays more potent when concentrated; 3. Dormant probiotic bacteria can withstand harsher van temperatures opposed to enzymes.

Ur-Out Benefits

Ur-Out practically eliminates everyone of the liabilities above. While #1 is just common sense, Ur-Out makes your job easier and more effective. #2: Flushing carpet pad: This works only in theory. Getting Ur-Out down into the carpet pad saves you time, liability and builds your reputation because it works. #3: Oxidizers/Odorcides: Again, they only offer short term results. Ur-Out eliminates the odor source (nitrogen) so it eliminate the problem fast and forever! #4: Ur-Out is highly concentrated to save you money and keep your solution at maximum potency and effectiveness.

All-Spray Carpet Pre-Spray

I honestly don’t know how we functioned using high-pH, soapy pre-sprays. High pH, high foaming carpet pre-spray is good for dirty carpet and tile. That’s about it! Going with a near-neutral pre-spray that doesn’t require soap opens your services to so many more options, is cost effective, saves you time and lability.

No Soap Residue

As a formulator, I work surfactants a lot. Even one of our industry’s favorite alcohol-based surfactant leaves residue even though they claim it doesn’t. Spraying it on a mirror and allowing it to dry undoubtedly leaves a sticky residue. A successful carpet cleaning franchise has made residue-free cleaning their flagship marketing and it’s working. People relate soap to sticky residue. Going soap-free offers a marketing edge that works.

pH isn’t Everything

Hydrogen exchange (pH) is a fantastic way to loosen soils from substrates, but there’s a downside our industry doesn’t wish to explain. Reducing the pH of carpet fibers after applying high pH requires either volumes of rinse water or a neutralizing acid-rinse. The issue lies in an area when either too much pre-spray is used or not enough acid-rinse neutralizes the carpet fibers. This literally leaves carpet fibers to become a magnet for acid-based soils as it dries. That high pH will self-neutralize, but how it gets there can leave the carpet looking dirty just a week or so after you cleaned it. This is because the high pH will attract acids, typically soils, to self-neutralize. In an industry with so much competition, you cannot afford pH staining.

Standard Carpet Pre-Spray Limits Your Revenue

With standard pre-spray you either have to waste time changing out your canister or turning down fine fabrics altogether. All-Spray offers extreme versatility. You can Hot Water Extract (HWE), Very Low Moisture (VLM) or Dry Compound clean just about any fiber out there including viscose, silk, linen, cotton and wool as well as natural stone including travertine and marble!

Standard Pre-Spray Slows You Down

You can’t, or shouldn’t just jump into cleaning a cotton sofa with high ph, soapy pre-spray. Will it turn out ok? Sure, in the short term, but over time it may gray as it collect soils as it self-neutralizes.

All-Spray Benefits

From caked-on greasy restaurant carpet to silk rugs to natural stone tile, All-Spray safely cleans more surfaces than any other prespray on the market. All-Spray uses ion encapsulation to remove soils from substrates. All-Spray connects to soils via their electrons to encapsulate and extract the soil from the fiber or substrate. It does this without the use of pH or soap. All-Spray not only saves you time and money, it creates more revenue opportunities while eliminating labilities!

Oxidizers or Odorcides for Roadkill?

We’ve all seen the decaying deer or racoon on the side of the road, but after a while it somehow just disappears. Besides vultures and coyotes, decomposing bacteria is what ultimately breaks the roadkill down into dust. In fact, oxidizers only slow the decay process and odor-cides makes it smell pretty.

Mother Nature uses decomposing bacteria to break down proteins, sugars and fats until they’re gone. This is exactly why rotting pet urine smells like ammonia gas. Ur-OUT doesn’t remove decomposing bacterial like oxidizers do. Nor does it mask urine odors like odor-cides. Ur-Out breaks the urine odors down into smaller, unnoticeable molecules.

Why Pet Urine Smells Worse in a Home

Carpet pad is practically sterile, meaning it doesn’t contain decomposing bacteria like the soil outdoors. When a pet pees on the carpet, Mother Nature scrounges up a fraction of the decomposing bacteria found the soil out back. This means the pet urine doesn’t have enough decomposing bacteria to break it down as quickly as soil.

Because the bacteria is limited, it takes a long time to convert the available nitrogen in the pet urine to ammonia gas, the foul odor your customer is complaining about. This is why pet urine seems to never go away indoors. Unfortunately, many professional carpet cleaners reach for a bottle of oxidizer to kill the decomposing bacteria. This only prolong the situation until Mother Nature can resume converting the available nitrogen to ammonia gas by sending in more bacteria when you’re gone.

Why Ur-Out Works

First, Ur-Out is not a silver bullet. The only way to guarantee complete pet urine odor removal is to replace the carpet, pad and wood or concrete beneath. yes – complete replacement! This ensures 100% odor elimination. Ur-Out however is a much easier and cost-effective option.

Ur-Out works by adding more probiotic bacteria to the carpet pad to mimic the soil outside. Adding more decomposing bacteria quickly and permanently eliminates pet urine odors indoors. Ur-Out also includes natural essential oils that counteracts that urine-ammonia odor as it breaks it down to unnoticeable molecules.

Fast Application, Permanent Results

Ur-Out cuts your application time in half, if not more. Simply mix it up and pour it on each urine spot making a small puddle. Step on the puddle to disperse Ur-Out into the carpet pad beneath. You’re done! Once in the pad and in contact with the pet urine, Ur-Out’s probiotic bacteria starts converting the protein, sugars and fats within the urine into smaller, unnoticeable molecules.

No more exposing your business to the liability of flushing urine out of carpet pad. No more wondering why Mrs. Jones stopped calling you after applying an oxidizer to pet urine. Get Ur-Out down into the carpet pad, clean the carpet the same day, and you are done!

Ur-Out is a 99% natural odor eliminator that is fast and easy to apply. Take your carpet cleaning or restoration business to the next level by ordering your first bottle of Ur-Out right now.

What Restorers Know That Carpet Cleaners Don’t

Many carpet cleaners use subsurface water tools to extract pet urine from carpet pad. Most don’t realize however that subsurface tools can leave a significant amount of waste water remaining in the pad. Even though the clear platform shows the water is gone, peeling the carpet back and squeezing that pad will show otherwise. This is why most Water Damage Restorers do not use subsurface tools.

What is Carpet Pad Made From?

The multi-color re-bonded pad you see under carpeting is actually recycled beds from the hotel industry. Known has rebond, this pad is effectively a sponge, and made from the same urethane material used to sponge-wash a car with. Urethane foam contains millions of cells that holds water like a sponge. The weight of a single man standing on a platform is not enough to effectively remove the water from that urethane sponge beneath the carpet.

Here’s the secret Water Damage Restorers know that Carpet Cleaners don’t: The pad can stay wet for weeks! This means that the remaining pet urine will soon off-gas for potentially weeks! And as that colony of bacteria grows, the odor only gets stronger until it eventually dries out.

Treat Pet Urine Biologically, Not Mechanically

When pet urine dries in the carpet pad, roughly 95% of the water evaporates. This means that professional carpet cleaners should only concern themselves with the remaining 5% of urine solids. The remaining 5% consists of urine salts, fats and proteins. It’s basically a dust that decomposing bacteria consumes to during the nitrogen cycle.

Ur-OUT makes treating pet urine odors faster and more effective because it adds billions more decomposing bacteria to destroy the urine odors fast and forever. Flushing urine out of carpet allows the limited amount of bacteria to restart the off-gassing process, which doesn’t solve the problem. This can cause frustration, loss of business and possibly tarnish your reputation.

How to Remove Pet Urine Odors from Carpet

The easiest way to treat pet urine is to premix Ur-OUT with warm water. Pour, spray or inject the solution on or into the carpet pad while stepping on it to disperse Ur-OUT evenly in the pad. You are done! Leave Ur-OUT in the carpet pad to dry naturally. The odor disappears as Ur-OUT dries. You are safe to clean the carpet the same day as a majority of Ur-OUT stays in the pad to eliminate the pet urine odors as it dries.

Order a bottle of Ultra Concentrated Ur-OUT right now and see how easy and effective it is at removing pet urine odors.

5 Gallon Bucket Explanation

We all know that pet urine is loaded with salt. This salt is a desiccant, which means it absorbs moisture right out of the air. This is why pet urine is more noticeable during rainy days – the humidity is higher.

Uric Salt, a Desiccant

If you’re water-damage certified, you know exactly what a desiccant dehumidifier is and how it work. Pet urine in carpet pad works like a desiccant dehumidifier, except its air is deposited into the living room instead of outdoors.

Uric salt (urine salt) is very thirsty. Once it gets a drink of water, it restarts the Uric Salt Cycle and off-gasses ammonia odors. If you place a 5 gallon bucket in any room that has pet urine, that uric salt will absorb the moisture right now of that bucket to restart the urine odors in a process we call the Uric Salt Cycle.

Uric Salt Cycle

Unlike bacteria-rich soil that breaks urine down fast, carpet pad is practically sterile. Pet urine in carpet pad can take years to fully decompose because Mother Nature doesn’t have enough bacteria indoors than outdoors.

It is a common mistake for professional cleaners to use oxidizers to kill the bacteria because that only prolongs the problem. Because oxidizers don’t effect the nitrogen content, Mother Nature will send in more bacteria to restart the Uric Salt Cycle once the oxidizer wears away. A few weeks later, the customer smells urine again and so she calls another cleaner. In short, oxidizers win the battle, but lose the war.

Why Bacteria is Good

Decomposing bacteria are a good thing. These little critters consume the nitrogen using enzymes to convert the nitrogen within the uric salt into ammonia gas, a useful fertilizer for plants. The problem is, it’s stinky! We don’t really notice the ammonia odor outdoors, but indoors the gas builds up and becomes a nuisance.

Ur-OUT is packed full of dormant decomposing probiotics that consumes the nitrogen when in contact. This delivers a fatal blow to the urine odor by speeding up the Uric Salt Cycle and eliminating it permanently. Ur-OUT also contains natural counteractants to make the carpet smell fresh as it is working.

Ur-OUT basically mimics soil by providing plenty of decomposing bacteria to destroy the urine permanently. Ur-OUT also continues to work long after the application by safeguarding the spot so odors cannot return. Next to replacing the carpet, applying a quality bacteria probiotic like Ur-OUT is the best way to eliminate pet urine from carpet.

Why Pay 68% More for a Gallon of Mostly Water?

Last week I had a carpet cleaner tell me he heard Ur-OUT is hard to use. I admit, you’ve got a few mixing options, but it saves you loads of money while delivering long-term permanent results. Why give your kid’s college fund to a distributor if you can mix it yourself?

You can save up to 68% and more by simply mixing Ur-OUT yourself. Ur-OUT has so many more benefits than the competition. And the best part, it’s the only type of pet urine treatment that delivers permanent results by eliminating nitrogen through the Nitrogen Cycle. Oxidizers, odor-cide’s and encapsulants are great deodorants, but they are just deodorants in the eyes of science. Ur-OUT is a permanent odor solution.

  • Ur-OUT Destroys Urine Odors Fast & Forever
  • Ur-OUT Saves you Thousands of Dollars Annually
  • Ur-OUT Cuts your Application Time in Half
  • Ur-OUT Lowers your Liability Drastically
  • Ur-OUT is Over 99% Natural Ingredients

Mix: Subsurface Extraction or Subsurface Injection

Add 6 ounces of Ur-OUT to near full gallon jug of hot water. Done.

Cost: $7.99 per Gallon RTU. That’s a 70% savings compared to a competitor’s price range of $26-$36 per gallon!

Subsurface Injection: Pour, spray or inject enough hot Ur-OUT into the carpet pad and clean the carpet. That’s it! Leave Ur-OUT in the pad to dry naturally. Ur-OUT destroys the nitrogen over a 3 to 5 day period. Plus, Ur-OUT continues to work long after the area is dry. No other type of pet treatment can eliminate nitrogen, I don’t care how many reviews it has.

Subsurface Extraction: Rewet the area with hot Ur-OUT solution. Wait 15 minutes and extact it out with a subsurface extraction tool. The remaining Ur-OUT spores will continue to digest any remaining nitrogen long after you’re gone.

Cold Shelf Stock Mix

This is the easiest dilution but more costly: Add 16 ounces of Ur-OUT to gallon jug of cold tap water. This is a RTU gallon, use it whenever you’re ready for it. Apply as instructed above.

Cost: $19.99 per Gallon RTU. That’s a 23% savings compared to a competitor’s price of $26-$36 to gallon!

pH Isn’t Everything

All-Spray Molecular Magic

How High pH Cleaners Work

Most professional carpet cleaners judge a carpet prespray by its the pH. And for good reason, the pH level tells you the strength or weakness of the hydrogen content of a cleaner. Acids have a higher hydrogen content while bases (alkaline) have lower hydrogen content.

Most household soils are acidic, so they have a higher hydrogen content. Applying an alkaline detergent to the hydrogen rich soil allows the low hydrogen cleaner to break up the soil so surfactants and water softeners can help remove it from the substrate. The pH isn’t the only way to remove soils from carpet, however. There are other methods that remove the soils from the substrate without using pH.

All-Spray Carpet PreSpray

Another method of removing soils from carpet, tile, stone, wool and cotton is by making water so wet that it has the viscosity of soap-water without the soap. All-Spray Molecular Magic contains special molecular structure that reduces the viscosity water to make it as wet as soap-water but without the soap!

Soap-free cleaners offer a unique benefit that many carpet cleaners might not realize. Soaps and surfactants, especially anionic surfactants, cannot be fully removed from the carpet fibers after the cleaning. Plus, many rinse agents also include surfactants. When a surfactant dries, it becomes gooey and sticky. Known as rapid re-soiling, this allows the carpet to resoil faster as soils stick to the surfactant residue.

Another problem with high pH carpet presprays is known as pH staining. This occurs when freshly cleaned carpet fibers are not chemically neutralized to near 7 pH. The high pH carpet fiber will now attract soils, dust and anything acidic like a magnet to help neutralize the high alkaline fibers. This causes rapid resoiling as well, and an unhappy customer that will likely not call you back.

All-Spray’s molecular structure encapsulates soils down to the size of an ion! All-Spray does not require high pH to remove soils because it is such a powerful wetting agent that it bypasses the neutralization phase to release the soil without alkalinity.

All-Spray Offers More Benefits Than the Rest

All-Spray is so versatile, safe and effective that it is like the Perfect Pre-Spray. You can clean carpet, tile, stone, marble, nylon, acrylic, wool, polyester, cotton, travertine and concrete with One PreSpray! That’s One PreSpray that cleans several surfaces! Here are benefits of using All-Spray Molecular Magic.

Safe & Soap-FREE

All-Spray is metal-safe, stainguard-safe, pet-safe, odor-free, dye-free, VOC-free, soap-free and 100% NonToxic. The best part of All-spray, however, is that your customer’s carpet will stay cleaner, longer because it cannot rapid resoil, or pH stain like most presprays. This means your customer’s carpet will stay cleaner, longer increasing your chance of earning a life-long customer.

Easier with Less Liability

All-Spray makes you and your technician’s job so much easier with far less liability. Can you imagine if a technician put acid cleaner on a marble floor? It’s not worth it! All-Spray makes training new lead technicians so much easier by cutting down all the different chemical training while making their job easy with less liability.

Spotter & Degreaser

Throw the expensive spotters away! Seriously, $26 dollars for a quart spotter? Please! Put that money towards your kid’s education instead of someone else’s. All-Spray is also a powerful spotter and degreaser when mixed at a higher concentration. And because it’s powder, All-Spray lasts so much longer than liquids!

Versatile

No other carpet prespray can switch from cleaning a high-end wool rug to a greasy restaurant without changing your prespray! All-Spray is so versatile with such low liability that it will save you money in so many ways. Plus, All-Spray keeps your customer’s carpet cleaner, longer, so it builds your customer-base and your reputation! You cannot lose with All-Spray Molecular Magic.
